The Story

At first thought, the shadow holding the light, in the darkness, was comforting. However, the dilemma was to stay in the comfort of the darkness or follow the shadow holding the light.

???Freedom???

This year we celebrated 75th year of independence on 15th August. The day we were declared no longer under the imperial British rule. But are we actually free? Have we got real freedom? Have we been passed on from one tyrant to another?

I don't know, I just pen down what ever thought bugs me.

The Rains

The rainy season is here, and the rains have a special capability. They bring a lot of things along with them.

They bring........

The fresh smell of earth drenched with the rain water, the soothing greenery all around after getting washed in the downpour, the smell of piping hot tea/coffee while its pouring outside, the lazy rainy afternoon and one thing that's always connected to all of these.... Memories.

So when it rains, do we get drenched in the downpour or we get drench in the memories? The woman in the sketch is one (like all of us) who is not only getting drenched in the downpour of memories but also clings on to them as these memories are so dear to her..... Like the rains.

Reminisce

When ever we scroll through our childhood memories, we often tend to recall specific incidents or events recorded by our minds. Most of the time it's because these incidents are those where family or siblings were involved.

A few days back my sister and I were reminiscing my birthday celebration every year. My birthday used to be very special because our exams used to end, our summer vacations used to start, my birthday being on a public holiday everyone used to be at home and last but not the least it used to be made special by a group of people celebrating the public holiday early morning in a small park near our house.

As my sister and I were discussing it brought out the above sketch in my mind, to which even my sister quickly agreed to.

So a small part of my childhood wrapped with warm memories for all of you

Perspective

A smile is not always a smile. It's your perspective, it depends on which side of the picture you are, is it a 6 or a 9?

It's true and we have to realise that at times what seems to be a smile can be very difficult for the person to put up. It may have a sad face hidden. Probably the person seeing the pic is not on the correct side. Flip to see the fun.

Think! That's what this page is about and at times look at the other side of the picture before your perspective is formed

Celestial Illusion

We depend on our senses to understand the difference between reality and illusion. But what we perceive as reality is not necessarily always real. We must understand that what we sense is at times customised by our brain according to our desire of reality.

Tried my hand at such an illusion. Spot it and if you like it do follow me.

The follow button is up there.

See O2

The above cartoon is funny. But where are we heading towards with all these forests being razed? Are we not only threatening the biodiversity, but also ensuring our own extinction? We should stop destroying our abode with our own hands before it's too late for any conservation efforts.

Monday

Mondays are the most hated day of the week. We all complain about Mondays. However, Mondays are not that bad. It's just like any other day. Rather Monday gives you a reason, to wait for next Friday. Monday teaches you patience and its upto us how we make the Monday count. We can feel sad dwelling in the thoughts of last Sunday well spent or we can start preparing for the next weekend to be superb.

I am not a life coach to let people know how to spend their days. I am just a small artist, who expresses his feelings through his art, but the choice is yours.

Lost... In my dreams

We all dream, but most of the times we forget what we dream. Some that we do remember, leaves us with questions like what did the dream mean? What is the dream trying to tell me?

When we sleep our subconscious mind is most active. It stores details from our daily activities. When we sleep the subconscious mind creates projections of these stored information and thoughts that create dreams.

What these dreams mean I cannot tell you. Most of the dreams are wierd and leave us with wierd feelings.

Above is an artist's illustration of dreams.

Alone

It happens with everyone at some point or the other that a person starts feeling that he is alone although he is amidst a crowd. Likewise in the picture above lines lay beside each other, but collectively they bring out a picture of a person who is alone.

That's the irony of the picture, the lines in the picture individually don't have a meaning. But when they come together they turn into a picture. However, the picture is of a person once again who is alone.

Food for thought. Align the lines of your life according to the picture you want to portray.

Moharaja Tomare Selam (I salute you the king of kings)

This small caricature is a tribute to the writer, film maker, director, music director, script writer, lyricist, illustrator and calligrapher Sri Satyajit Ray, on his 100th birthday. Sri Satyajit Ray has always been an inspiration for creative people and our childhood would have been incomplete without reading his books and watching his movies.

No matter how much I write about him will be less. Just want to quote a line from one of the songs from one of his movies "Moharaja Tomare Selam"

The cabin in the woods (The secret lair)

During the weeks that I was not able to post and I was busy with tackling life, I have realised that I have a cabin in the woods of my mind .

It exists somewhere deep inside my mind. When I am tired, broke, and have no way out, I retreat to the warm abode of this place to contemplate, to regain the strength to come back and fight back.

This is the pic of the cabin in the woods of my mind. Do you also have a secret lair like this?
